I have a Cameronians cap badge that has a crown affixed to the top two points of the wreath. Does anyone know the history of the badge and the reason for he crown being part of the badge?

Alex Maxwell tells me that the badge with the crown was worn by the pipe/drum major (can't remember which one) on the belt that they wore across their chest.

Just recently began brousing the site. Re the answer to the Cap Badge in question. It should be noted ,that as a Rifle Regiment , there was no such rank as a Drum Major in the Cameronians. They were known as Bugle Majors. Incidently, in 1968 on the disbandment, that made Maxi Mac Donald the last Bugle Major in Scotland. Regards, Pat Jack former Piper 1961/68
